"The Runners" Sculpture

"The Runners" by sculptor Theodoros Papagiannis is a piece of world class art that will carry a lasting friendship and partnership message.  "The Runners," similar to ancient Greek pottery figures, move through time, emerging from antiquity to meet the present.  The Sculpture will be a donation from the Chicago-Athens Sister City Committee, through a series of fundraising events and individual contributions, to the City of Chicago Public Art Collection for permanent installation at the O'Hare International Airport.  Already a smaller replica has been installed at the arrivals area at T5.  The 18 foot tall x 75 foot long steel sculpture will not only be a pertinent tie between Athens and Chicago, but will surely become a landmark for the 100 million annual airport visitors.
